Engine
The Sierra 1500 Pro, SLE, and Elevation deliver powerful performance via a 2.7-liter turbocharged high-output engine generating 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Pop open the SLT's hood, and you'll find a 5.3-liter V-8 featuring an output of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The SLT is also available with a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine capable of producing 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. The rest of the lineup gets a 6.2-liter V-8 that puts out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, enabling a 13,000-pound towing capacity.
Performance
The Sierra 1500's standard transmission is an eight-speed automatic, while upper trim levels, starting with the SLT, get a 10-speed automatic. Both systems boost engine output while enabling seamless acceleration. Every Sierra 1500 features an all-wheel-drive system that distributes power to all four wheels for uniform stability and optimal traction.
