The 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD is a heavy-duty pickup truck that’s built for performance. Our dealership is diving deep into the new Sierra 2500 and sharing some of its most interesting features in this guide.

Engine Options

The standard engine option on the Sierra 2500 is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that supplies 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. If you have advanced towing needs, you may prefer the 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. This engine delivers 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque with a maximum towing capacity of up to 22,070 pounds.

Exterior

The Sierra 2500 base trim has chrome bumpers, black beltline moldings, and 17-inch all-season blackwall tires. There are twelve fixed cargo tie-downs that are rated at 500 lbs. Corner and vertical trailering mirrors give you an enhanced view of your trailer at all times. The available GMC MultiPro tailgate has six different configurations that make loading and unloading cargo efficient.

Solar-absorbing glass absorbs the sun’s UV rays and keeps your cabin cooler even when you’re parking in direct sunlight. The cab-mounted cargo area lamps provide lighting when unloading cargo at night, while the CornerStep rear bumper keeps you from falling when climbing up to the bed.

Interior

The Sierra’s 40/20/40 split front seat has an under-seat storage compartment that’s perfect for items you want close by, but out of sight. The rear seat is a 60/40 split that can be folded up on either side to accommodate more cargo. All standard Sierra seating is made with vinyl seat trim for easy cleaning.

The Sierra 2500 has six speakers that project audio evenly throughout the cabin. Rear air vents keep your passengers comfortable. USB ports allow for easy charging, while the 3.5-inch driver information center displays your vehicle’s insights.

Assistive Driving

The Sierra 2500 has an exclusive assistive driving package that can keep you safer on the road. The Sierra HD Pro Safety package includes the following assistive tools:

  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • IntelliBeam
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Buckle to Drive
  • Automatic Emergency Braking

These functions monitor your truck’s path using radar sensors and digital cameras, alerting you to possible collisions before they occur.

Safety

Safety features in the Sierra 2500 include Teen Driver, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, and OnStar Connected Services capability. Teen Driver keeps track of your child’s driving habits and provides ongoing feedback while StabiliTrak keeps your truck upright during emergency maneuvers on the road. OnStar Connected Services connects you with emergency advisors after an accident and sends first responders to the location of your truck for assistance.
